Mawlid (Arabic: مَولِد النَّبِي‎ mawlidu n-nabiyyi, "Birth of the Prophet", sometimes simply called in colloquial Arabic مولد mawlid, mevlid, mevlit, muludamong other vernacular pronunciations; sometimes ميلاد mīlād) is the observance of the birthday of the Islamic prophet Muhammad which is celebrated often on the 12th day of Rabi' al-awwal, the third month in the Islamic calendar. The 12th Day of Rabi' al-awwall is the most popular date from a list of many dates that are reported as the birth date.

The origin of Mawlid observance dates back to the period of the early four Rashidun Caliphs of Islam. The celebration of this birthday was further initiated by the Fatimids and it was celebrated in lands under their control. The Ottomans declared it an official holiday in 1588. The term Mawlid is also used in some parts of the world, such as Egypt, as a generic term for the birthday celebrations of other historical religious figures such as Sufi saints.

It’s not every day that you come across skincare products you also want to eat. Nubia’s new skincare line, conceived and fabricated by the owner of Nubia Spa Vert, is handmade in Montreal using 100% natural ingredients, and includes premium products for the face and body.

The owner of the spa had worked on developing the products for over 6 years, sourcing rare natural ingredients from around the world and perfecting the balance of the products. After being diagnosed with thyroid cancer, she wanted to create a skincare line that used only organic and therapeutic ingredients, no chemicals/additives/preservatives, and where the production methods and packaging did not leave a negative environmental footprint. She wanted the products to be an extension of her existing spa's "green" philosophy.

The Nubia skincare line appeals to women in their late 20’s and older who choose their products based on purity of ingredients, the highest production standards, and social/environmental factors. The packaging accentuates product visibility while balancing a high-end, modern aesthetic with personalized, tactile and colorful touches that highlight the freshness of the ingredients used, as well as the artisanal, hand-made aspect of the products.

Injeolmi (Korean pronunciation: [indʑʌlmi] is a variety of tteok, or Korean rice cake, made by steaming and pounding glutinous rice flour, which is shaped into small pieces and usually covered with steamed powdered dried beans or other ingredients. It is a representative type of glutinous pounded tteok, and has varieties depending on the type of gomul (고물, coating) used. Gomul can be made with powdered dried soybeans, azuki beans, or sesame seeds, or sliced dried jujube.

Injeolmi is not only a popular snack but also is considered a high quality tteok, used for janchi (잔치, party, feast, or banquet) in Korea. It is easily digested and nutritious.

OVERVIEW
Today, feminine health and hygiene brands are spending millions of dollars on design campaigns but they still haven’t addressed the female need for discretion and privacy in the marketing and packaging of feminine sexual health and hygiene products. The identity of a woman is strangely absent from the design conversation within this category. Consumer life is very saturated with visual noise, unclear choices and obfuscation. In a cluttered world, brands need to simplify the process while embodying the values and dignity of the consumer.

APPROACH
I have created a lifestyle brand which embodies a new head space and shift of consciousness that manifests with products packaged and designed to resonate specifically with young women. This thesis was created to help women feel supported via packaging dignified with a sense of confidentiality and sensitivity when purchasing sexual health products. Through better design, women will be free to shop absent of the perceived stigma associated with the products.

Grande Vallée – new Ukrainian brand that produces wine of high quality pure varietals of French vineyards.

The objective of the agency was to create a logo and packaging that differentiate and emphasize the main competitive advantages of the drink.

The solution was found in the task itself. 650 hectares of pure varietal French vineyards became the basis of the logo and packaging. Each position of wine corresponds to a specific color and copywriting showing the unique character of the drink. All this - the part of the southern landscape over which like the golden sun logo of the manufacturer rises.

Each bottle of Grande Vallée - it's a little story of great concern and love to the business.

Working directly with farmers, the brand helps promote sustainable communities while creating chocolate of unsurpassed quality and purity. Every creation is a delicacy, reflecting the flavor of its origin and the integrity of its ingredients. Simple, sustainable, and delicious.

I was commissioned by Colorado-based craft maker of single origin chocolate bars, blended bars, jar ganache, and truffles to create the illustration of its new packaging for the rebranding of their product. The idea was to translate the organic feel of the brand into the illustration. The art revolved around the origin of the cacao beans, where it is being harvested incorporating nature elements that surrounds the area.

The illustration was also designed to be cut into 5 different sections to create variety of packaging design to it's different chocolate bar selections.
