Design: Path
Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
Client: UCC Europe
Location: London, UK
Packaging Contents: Coffee
Packaging Substrate / Materials: Cardboard

London-based strategic brand agency Path has supported Campanini in crafting the design for its new everyday premium range of coffee capsules. Campanini’s new packaging embodies modern Italian style that is elegant yet approachable.

Owned by UCC Europe, the European market leader for private label and single portion coffee, the brand needed to standout in the consumer market with a modern design that reflected its Italian influence and outstanding quality. The creative challenge was in building strong visual equities to establish the Campanini brand whilst also creating appeal and supporting navigation with an expression that made sophistication, simple.

Inspired by timeless Italian style, Campanini’s new design contrasts classic typography with clean modern lines. A chic colour palette brings vibrancy and elegance to the design whilst a subtle pattern inspired by Italian tiles, adds depth and gives the brand a more premium feel. Uncluttered and uncomplicated, the design employs a simple visual language to support navigation. An image of a Campanini capsule sitting alongside an inviting coffee served in a stylish cafe glass adds a final touch of taste appeal and approachability.

Design: ARMBRAND
Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
Packaging Content: Alcohol, Vodka
Packaging Substrate / Materials: Glass Bottle, Self-adhesive Label
Location: Belarus, Russia

Magic and miracles – that’s the people miss living in the technogenic world. Therefore fantasy (for example, "Game of Thrones") has got great popularity. For this reason we created VEDZMA brand, literally magic because it’s produced using ancient spells. It’s fairy tale for adults, the image mystical and a bit ironical.

The character (sorcerer, witch) attracts attention by strong sex appeal: as a beautiful erotic dream for men, as a realization of magic power and free flight for women.

Agency: Aizawa office
Designers: Yukihiko Aizawa, Yuki Mori
Client: Les Gants Co., Ltd.
Packaging Content: Fabric gloves and embroidered appliques
Location: Japan
Project Type: Commercial Work

The ‘Piccke’ of Japanese brand consists of fabric gloves and embroidered appliques. For the packaging design, the outer box has a shape like ‘a book’. We consider each applique series designed by various artists as a ‘story’. By using typography effectively, the box keeps its ‘book-like design’ while providing a practical information such as instructions for use. Each box has a book band that expresses each ‘story (applique sets)’. Thanks to the effective use of book bands, we only need one design of the box and it resulted in packaging cost reduction.

Design: Paul Valentiner
Project Type: Concept
Packaging Content: Tea
Location: Germany

The idea for this packaging design came to fruition when I decided to practice my skills without any client restrictions. The goal was to create a recognizable brand while experimenting with Adobe’s latest software. The design for this fictitious German tea brand was inspired by the belief that tea not only brings great ingredients together but in doing so also unites people around the world. My intention was to communicate the sense of tradition, natural ingredients and quality associated with tea.

The UK’s number one baby food brand Ella’s Kitchen has moved into the frozen category for the first time under a new brand architecture and identity by independent brand and design consultancy Biles Hendry.

Launching exclusively across Tesco stores in the UK and Ireland this month, the new Ella’s Kitchen range of healthy, tasty and convenient frozen products features a playful identity that appeals to both children and adults with bespoke illustrations and food photography.

New options for health-conscious families
Having established a dominant position in the ambient aisle with a range of organic, delicious and convenient food for little ones, Ella’s Kitchen identified an opportunity to deliver a range of equally nutritious and tasty products from frozen for a broader age range including older children.

Building on the strength of the core ‘kids-first’ brand identity by retaining the Ella’s Kitchen logo, bright colour palette and handwritten typographic style, Biles Hendry introduced a brand architecture for the new ‘Big Kids’ sub-range designed for ages up to 8 years.

The newly-released frozen products include meal-boosting veggie cubes that can be added to recipes like risotto or shepherd’s pie for a quick and easy nutrition and flavour boost, or used to create smooth and tasty purees perfect for weaning; Big Kids ‘Light Bites’ including falafels and muffins for little lunchboxes; and Big Kids ‘Tea-Time Stars’ with heartier options such as fishcakes and cottage pies.

Sipsong Spirits Packaging

Design: Noise 13
Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
Client: Sipsong Spirits
Location: San Francisco, California
Packaging Contents: Alcohol, gin
Packaging Substrate / Materials: Glass bottle

San Francisco-based branding agency Noise 13 just unveiled wildly unexpected branding and packaging for Sipsong Spirits, a new California small-batch liqueur that blends earth-foraged ingredients into crazy inventive flavors—meant to be sipped, savored, and connect to your own inner “sipsong”.

Sipsong Spirits’ founder Tara Jasper is truly a free spirit. After culinary school and world travels, she returned to her roots in Northern California’s Sonoma County with a fire in her belly to craft uniquely distilled small-batch liqueurs.

Tara reached out to Noise 13 for a brand that not only stood out, but also showcased her personality. Tara’s hope is that when you sip their gin, you will slow down so you can hear your intuition, your inner voice, your “sipsong”.

Our first assignment was to create the label for Indira Gin. As the name hints at, this gin is created with warm East Indian botanicals. The tasting notes include: juniper, angelica root, orange, bay, lavender, pink peppercorn, kaffir lime, coriander, hibiscus and cumin. Like the flavor of Sipsong’s gin, the packaging is unexpected. The rounded shape of the label was inspired by Tara’s approach to business. She always surrounds herself by a wide circle of collaborators that she holds close and loves to support in return. The color and illustration style were inspired by the gin’s ingredients and a painting that hangs in Tara’s home.

Abbott's Village Bakery

Design: AKA Brand Design
Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
Client: Abbott's Village Bakery
Location: Sydney, Australia
Packaging Contents: Bread
Packaging Substrate / Materials: Plastic

The challenge:
Consumers were struggling to tell the difference between Abbott's Village Bakery and other premium brands in the supermarket category. This premium bakery segment was "stale" with competing brands offering like for like products, giving consumers little reason to browse or trial. So how do you convince consumers that Abbott's Village Bakery delivers the best bread experience?

Our solution:
We solved this by creating a new design, that embodies the Abbott's Village Bakery commitment to innovation and promise of a better bakery experience. A new logo lock up focusing on the Abbott's Village Bakery name, is proudly front and centre. The experimental nature and excitement of the adventurous foodie consumer, is captured with the excitement of the expressive flare behind the holding shape. Appetite appeal is delivered through real, interesting food imagery and enticing flavour cues. Ease of range navigation between the core and premium flavours was applied. Matched with a fresh colour palette, the packaging creates both modernity and stand out at shelf and a fresh reason to try the wider range.

Design: CENTERSPREAD
Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
Client: Pawsitively Fresh
Location: Karachi, Pakistan
Packaging Contents: Dog Treat
Packaging Substrate / Materials: Compostable pouches

We were tasked to design packaging for an emerging premium pet treat company. We created a simple design which embodied their values. They believe in providing wholesome food for dogs, being transparent and eco-friendly. We created a design which narrates their story to the core.

The color palettes depict the natural and healthy ingredients found in this product. The design begins with the brand name, then gives a glimpse of the product via the see-through window. The center of the design grabs the attention with the picture of a cute dog, then displays the product ingredients and what it offers. The brand believes in clearly communicating it's ingredients. Not only this, they differentiate themselves by using few ingredients and each has unique health benefits for dogs and there is no filler content. Keeping this in mind, we clearly depicted the ingredients on the front panel. The story culminates at the bottom highlighting the fact that the brand believes in giving back to the society. They donate a portion of the proceeds to animal shelters.

Therefore, this design is simple yet powerful a sit tells the story of the brand, their beliefs and values. Thus at the same time, it is pleasing to the eye and grabs the attention.

Introducing a new brand, I used the vintage yet contemporary style design, with splashes and vibrant colors. Gallant is a wine that transforms every relation into a special one. It brings together old partners, friends or lovers to celebrate their relationship that will last forever. Each type (red, white, rosé) is done in a different way for emphasizing the mood and energy of each personality.

It is OK to Still Sleep with a Stuffed Animal as an Adult
The purpose of this investigation is to discover how data can be visually manipulated to create radically different visual narratives.

The goal of the project is to convince adults that it is ok to still sleep with stuffed animals. Therefore, I combined teddy bear with beer to engage in adults’ purchase experiences, in the hope of inspiring them to “drink beers and hug bears”.

Viewers can see more detailed data on the three bottles, including how many percent of adults still have their childhood stuffed animals by gender, how many percent of adults still sleep with stuffed animals by generation, why adults sleep with childhood nighttime companions and how many percent of adult Americans still sleep with stuffed animals.

As stuffed animals are comfort objects to provide psychological comfort and also offer stress relief, I encouraged adults to put their solo socks or old socks into the unstuffed bear. After that, they can sleep with it.

Course: Graphic Design
Tutor: Judit Tóth, Réka Holló-Szabó
Location: Budapest, Hungary
Packaging Contents: Chinese streetfood restaurant
Packaging Substrate / Materials: Paper, cardboard
Printing Process: Digital printing

The purpose of my project is to design the facade of a Chinese streetfood restaurant, which, by its special features, arouses people's interest.

Nowadays in the facade of most Chinese restaurants red and yellow colours are dominant, while the traditional Chinese porcelain for eating is blue and therefore the main colour of the facade is blue.

The main figure of the project is a Chinese lady, her face is the logo.

This figure is also there on the menu and business cards. If you put the business cards or the menus together in a row, we get a pattern from the figure. In addition, samples of the possibly chosen meat can be found on different surfaces.
