  • 11/18/18--22:23: The Little Chef

  • Design: Carpenter Collective
    Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
    Client: Digimarc / Little Chef
    Location: USA
    Packaging Contents: Pasta
    Packaging Substrate / Materials: Paper
    Printing Process: Off-Set

Developing the brand identity for The Little Chef was part naming, part brand exploration, part packaging development and part experimentation with Digimarc’s new invisible barcode technology. Digimarc has developed technology so that designers no longer have to place ugly barcodes on their packaging forms ever again. It’s pretty exciting that the entire packaging piece is a connected package allowing you to literally scan anywhere on the box with a POS scanner or phone. The Little Chef brand identity and packaging system was a perfect opportunity to showcase this new technology.

We knew we wanted an inventive way to show the product without having to rely on a photograph of the pasta on the package. Our solution was to create a custom die-cut window reflective of the shape of the pasta, revealing the pattern of the inner box that reinforces the visual and flavor cues. Our Italian grandfather inspired the Little Chef brand. His love of Italian cuisine always taught us that the way to someone’s heart was through their stomach! The exterior of the box showcases the inspired Little Chef beginnings along with other fun pasta facts and details of the made from scratch pasta.

    Client: Grounded Cru

    Packaging Contents: Wine
Packaging Substrate / Materials: Glass Bottle, Paper, Cardboard
    Printing Process: Digital Printing, Foil

“When winemaker Geoff Thompson approached Cornershop to create a new wine brand back in 2015, we knew it was going to be a special project,” says Damian Hamilton, brand keeper & designer. “Geoff’s objective was to offer something unique to the market; a brand that reflects his genuine values.” Cornershop immersed themselves in the strategic process and the name ‘Grounded Cru’ was born. “The name Grounded Cru is playful and individual, with a multilayered meaning,” says Geoff. ‘Grounded’ reflects Geoff’s down to earth nature and the fact that he values relationships (collaborating with growers, etc) and pays attention to the little things; handcrafting his wines.

It also carries a link to terroir and the vineyard. ’Cru’ is a French word meaning ‘growth’. It is also used with terms ‘Grand’ and ‘Premier’ to classify the superior quality of a vineyard. “I also like to think of ‘Cru’ with regards to joining the crew or being part of a crew,” says Geoff.

  • 11/19/18--22:10: Danissimo Milkshakes

  • Design: AVC (Agency of Visual Communications)
    Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
    Client: Danone
    Location: Minsk, Belarus
    Packaging Contents: Milkshakes
    Packaging Substrate / Materials: Paper

The Danissimo milkshake line appeared on the Belarusian market in May 2017 and took a leading position in its segment two month later. Despite the success, the company decided to refresh the packaging design in order
to emphasize the refined nature of the treat. There was also a need to enhance the taste differentiation within the line.

Changing the food zone style, we have brought the taste on stage. A large laconic illustration and gradient reminiscent of the stage light focus on the outstanding taste of the product – it is soloing and seducing. The background has received volume and has become an additional element of the adjustment – noble appetizing shades were selected for each type of cocktail.

Trendy and expressive design makes the product noticeable on the shelf, helping the brand to remain relevance and attract new customers.

    Design: Dorian
    Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
    Client: Maestros de Hojiblanca
    Location: Spain
    Packaging Contents: Oil
Packaging Substrate / Materials: Glass bottle
Printing Process: Offset + foil stamping

Maestros de Hojiblanca, the leading olive oil brand in the Spanish market, commissioned us to create the packaging for its premium range.

Each bottle had to pay tribute to an essential product of Spanish gastronomy (artichoke, bread and tomato), without looking like flavored oils for the consumer.

In addition, the design had to be consistent with the brand architecture that we had already created for the rest of the line, as well as raising the premium perception of the product.

Inspired by surrealism, the design represents each of the products in bucolic illustrations where artichokes are trees, bread loafs are mountains and a tomato is the sun. A risky and innovative concept for the brand and its products.

Using mostly white in the labels helps differentiating significantly the product from the rest of its competitors in the supermarket, the use of gold hot foil gives the oil a sophisticated touch and a bright color band is used to clearly differentiate the products of the range.

An elegant and careful design that communicates the briefing provided by the client in a singular and creative way.

O'o Hawaii is a premium skincare brand which provides upscale consumers with a luxury, organic, and therapeutic integrative beauty and supplement line made from Hawaiian superfoods that leverage the brand of Hawaii and focus on beauty from the inside out.

The bird-related product names stem from the brand’s reference to ōʻō, an extinct bird that once populated Hawaii. Since Elements of Chinese and holistic medicine as well as Ayurveda were to be leveraged throughout the concept and brand, Luko Designs created an unusual, faceted and colorful packaging inspired by Japanese origami (helping O’o Hawaii appeal to the Japanese market as well as US). The O'o Hawaii Brand itself is modern and simplistic in its essence, allowing it to stand out against the intricate and information-heavy packaging.

Chemistry brands created identity, packaging design and lookbook for women lingerie brand.

We designed S&T as a truely feminine brand with massive charisma.

An import part of the brand philosophy is what woman feels like in a changing world. The way she wants to expresses herself today. The way she experiences life. We clearly understood - mass brands do not coincide with woman's self-awareness today.

While being interviewed women would say «We are tired of being good, perfect, sexy in common understanding, commercials with girls in «right seductive postures» that look out of every lingerie window are quite irritating». «I ain’t for sexual revolution I just want to be me - to have my moods fall in love, to be funny, hate, experience – to be awesome! I don't want to live up to any imposed image of a woman - I am a woman!»
Woman of S&T plays her life the way she wants. There is no taboo for her. She is not afraid to reveal her sexuality without playing girl or sex-nymph. She experiences life. She is awesome bold and free!

  • 11/20/18--21:33: Jujuteh

  • Design: Design Dimensions
    Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
    Client: Jujuteh
    Location: Washington DC, USA
    Packaging Contents: Shoes - Espadrilles
    Packaging Substrate / Materials: Paper
Printing Process: Digital Printing, Foil Stamping

We’re always happy to design for friends and friends of friends. That said, Jujuteh was a project we were instinctively drawn to, due to the infectious enthusiasm of this client. We were given a brief about her proposed online venture based out of America yet deeply rooted in India. Global shoes with an Indian soul (sole). She wanted to launch a brand of hand-crafted Espadrilles using embroidery techniques from different parts of the world. And one fine day, she gave up her job as a research scientist and dove right into the world of shoes.

The client has wonderful aspirations for the brand and wanted us to create something that could stand alongside any other globally reckoned house of fashion.

Brand Name: The word Jujuteh is a combination of ‘Ju’ from Jute and ‘Jutey’ the Hindi word for shoes. The first decision was the toughest one – ‘Jujutey’ vs ‘Jujuteh’ for the brand name. The unanimous decision was JUJUTEH and the idea began to take shape.

Logo: After various combinations of fonts, hand drawn letters and multiple iterations – this is what was finalised. We’ve used the alphabet j from the beautiful Devanagari script for j as a mirrored image to create the monogrammed symbol.

Colour Palette: While most people think that making a logo is half the battle won – you haven’t really been to battle, until you’ve arrived at a colour palette. Many palettes later we were able to narrow it down to 3 palettes and arrive at the final one. We’ve created a full range of stationery for business use as well as collateral for the brand.

    Business Card:
The business card was designed to be made in Gold foil with a bright and rich colour palette. It is a two-sided card with the emphasis on the brand logo on one side and the cardholder’s details on the reverse.

Stationery: The letterhead and envelope follow the theme of the cards and incorporate the ethos of the brand – a young, vibrant brand with bold colours and happy soles.

Thank You Card: Since buying online has become a preferred way of shopping, what sets brands apart is the level of personalisation through their products. It is always wonderful to receive a little note or letter with a purchase and that is what we’ve done here. A small note to say thank you and brighten your day is sealed with a gold wax seal and included in each shipment.

Boxes, Bags and more: Receiving your online purchase is like receiving a present. It is paramount to the customer experience that there is exciting packaging and all the little details count. These are things that can make or break brand loyalty. We created a lovely cardboard box with two options for the inside a natural jute bag inside combined with wrapping paper with the brand pattern on it.

Wrapping Paper: With online purchases often being presents, it is important to offer wrapping services. We created 2 sets of wrapping paper in teal and a shaded peach and pink paper.
