  • 01/10/19--22:43: Minimalism and Hedonism

  • Design: Fabula Branding
    Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
    Client: MILLENNIUM Chocolate Factory
    Location: Minsk, Belarus
    Packaging Contents: Confectionery
    Packaging Substrate / Materials: Cardboard

Millennium confectionery was launched in the market in 1999. The brand continues to develop, and its main messages today are European lifestyle, success, and hedonism. This had to be reflected in the package design: the updated product had to meet modern tastes of its target audience, including the visual aspect.

The result of our work was a new harmonious look based on clear and bright colours, laconic lettering, and minimalism. The minimalistic photo style is an important part of the design solution for each package: it shows its actual content or yummy ingredients of the product. Chocolates stand out on the shelf overloaded with conservative design solutions due to their visual simplicity and clarity. The new package looks modern and stylish and communicates the advantages of the product in a better way.

    Packaging Content: Chocolate
    Location: USA

We all know the simple pleasure of a decadent chocolate bar – but have you ever tried an espresso bar? Made with 100% Ka’u coffee beans, these Espresso Bites delight with a smooth texture and a jolt of energy. After hearing about these unique treats, we were excited to partner with Big Island Coffee Roasters to help elevate their brand to the next level. With a growing demand for their coffee products, B.I.C.R. saw that it was the perfect time to explore a packaging system that is more sophisticated, sustainable, and scalable.

Our solution was to embrace and capture the origin of their coffee farm and roastery located in the captivating landscape of Puna, Hawaii. Through research and strategy to the final packaging design, we developed a brand system that captured the tale of their island dwelling. Just picture it: wild feral pigs roaming the hills, beautiful native flora that enhances the ecosystem, and the volcanic rock that adds a rich dimension to the roots of their coffee.

There are geometric forms, caravels, fish and even mermaids drawn with stones, meticulously fitted, that reveal a talent that takes the name of Portuguese sidewalk. This is one of the greatest symbols of national culture and it recalls pieces of history. An art form that can now also be contemplated on the label "Calçada Velha", an M&A Creative Agency's creation for a wine with Adega Mor's charisma and personality.

Entirely ornamented with geometric patterns of the Portuguese sidewalk, using the shades of blue and white, the design of this label was complemented by a lettering that also uses the cobblestone, drawing the name of the wine. The veneer finishes brighten up the label, just as this world-renowned treasure brings brightness to the streets. Being a special product, M&A Creative Agency's creatives also developed the packaging that involves the bottle: it was designed a unitary box, personalized, coated with the pattern of the Portuguese sidewalk, in a harmony that leaves no one indifferent.

The concept of eco-shampoo is based on the reconsideration of packing.

YOU NEED LESS — this is the motto of today. the slogan for the ones who are aiming to fight the hyper-consumption. The naming comes from the lifestyle of young people who live their life consciously.

While the front of the package shows the motto, the sides depict the guide to action: advice on eco-lifestyle, web-link on the green blog and notes on how to recycle the package.

Why the cardboard? It has lots of advantages over usual plastic packing. The cardboard package is made of a renewable material and also weights less. At the same time, the folded carton pack takes very little space during transportation which reduces the amount of vehicles on roads and, therefore, it helps to reduce the total level of CO2 emission. This package needs less space in a warehouse, in a shop or at home.

The original idea is coming from the Laboratory Group advertising agency then it was developed further by Dia Ghyczy. This iconic feature was our guide during the redesign so we kept the palms and gave it a radical twist by using more powerful colours and sharp lines. We used a full-wrap, tall label to enhance the fine art character with its resemblance to relief printing techniques. The colours of the bottle capsules match the labels on the different wine types.

Shaving is a very masculine thing to do.

Depilating, on the other hand, is thoroughly feminine. To overcome this widespread opinion we had to shift how men perceived the process, make it more manly, even brutal. And what could be more manly, than removing hair with a hatchet?

As hair salons were rebranded as barbershops to attract men, so did depilation have to be rebranded to become something new, that men could understand. Thus we decided to position the product as a series for male grooming, for hair removal, rather than depilation.
