Creative Agency: NH One Design Communications Pvt Ltd
Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
Client: Don't Hide it. Period.
Location: Gurgaon, India
Packaging Contents: 10 Sanitary Pads in a Canvas Pouch
Packaging Substrate / Materials: Canvas Pouch
Printing Process: Digital

Period is as natural as eating, drinking and sleeping. There’s can be no human race without it. Yet most of us loathe talking about it. Look at social media. You’ll see plenty has been written to address this issue. Despite all the mediums of communication that exist we feel the first point of that communication should be the packaging itself. Since we interact with the sanitary pad every month. It lives with us hidden in our bathroom drawers. Wouldn’t’ it be fantastic if every month the packaging system can engage us in this conversation and encourage us to open up and talk about periods?

We thought of breaking this taboo and re-design the way a sanitary pad packaging interacts with its user. We wanted to turn the boring sanitary pad packaging into one that is inspiring, confident and sparks conversation. We designed a canvas pouch with the core messaging. Each pouch contains a set of ten sanitary pads, each with a unique message, so that the most natural phenomenon in the world can no longer be the most stigmatised of embarrassing one.

Apart from the packaging and Tshirts, Donthideitperiod.com, a website dedicated to the campaign invites users to join the conversation by writing their own messages on the virtual pad and share to create wider awareness on social media.

Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
Client: Well's
Location: Lisboa, Portugal
Packaging Contents: Baby Care products
Packaging Substrate / Materials: Plastic

Well’s, a Portuguese parapharmacy with stores all over Portugal, decided to launch a baby care private label capable of emphasising the brand’s positioning as an expert, with good quality products at a lower price range.

BRIEF
When Well’s presented us their brief, we knew we were facing a massive challenge, given the number of baby care brands that already have a guaranteed space both in the shelves of Well’s stores and in the heart of Portuguese parents. This new line of products had to convey an image of credibility as well as tenderness in order to call the attention of consumers and make them trust and buy the products.

SOLUTION
We started by creating a graphic identity that is clearly human in order to underline the emotional nature of a brand which needs to transmit comfort and security feelings. To achieve this, we created a family of animal characters, with names and personalities that match the categories of the brand’s products. Very delicate and love inspiring, these illustrations were created specially for Baby Well’s and its storytelling, helping to make it a visually stronger but emotional and relatable brand.

In 2015, Yondr Studio was commissioned by Rob and Kelly McCune to help brand their family farmhouse cidery, Runcible Cider. The name and imagery surrounding the brand were derived from the poem, The Owl and the Pussycat by Edward Lear—a poem near and dear to Rob and Kelly.

The objective was to capture the whimsical and adventurous spirit of Rob and Kelly as reflected in Lear’s poem, while also visually communicating the folklore surrounding the story.

Since 2015, I've had the pleasure of working with Kelly and Rob on expanding the Runcible visual identity and adding new labels to the mix as new varieties of their cider are released.

Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
Location: Norway

Balholm is a family owned farm orchard located deep inside the Sognefjord of Norway, an area historically known for its abundant fruit production. We were asked to create a brand platform for a new ecological apple brandy to tap into the renewed interest in nordic food and beverage traditions. The client was looking for a flexible way to convey the many stories and anecdotes historically important for the village of Balestrand and associated to fruit.

Distillation of fruit liquor used to be common in Norwegian farms with a fruit garden. The tradition of micro distillation is experiencing a revival in Norway thanks to a new law allowing for spirit distilling.

To celebrate this renaissance we wanted to keep the fruit at the centre of the product as symbol of a genuine farm product. We created a solution inspired by the language and typography of vintage fruit wrappers, creating an intuitive link to fruit/apples allowing a flexible naming and visual storytelling for future extensions in the range.
