Design: Jekyll and Hyde
Creative Director\Copywriter: Mikhail Rakov
Art-Director: Roman Kirichenko
Project manager: Elena Palamarchuk
3D visualization: Alexey Avduevsky, Konstantin Fedorov
Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
Client: IP Ivanov&Co
Location: Saint-Petersburg, Russia
Packaging Contents: Sausage
Packaging Substrate / Materials: Plastic

Task: Promotion of meat production, sausages

Solution: To draw attention to the product, it was decided to create a series of limited promotional packaging

Description: The idea itself is easily read and more than obvious: sausages are very similar to inflatable balloons, from which clowns twist different animals.

The main problem of implementation was that one cannot twist a chicken, cow or pig from these "balloons". Therefore, we decided to do what the children and samurai do: if common sense doesn't work, be reckless. In other words, we gave up logic in favor of pure emotion. Therefore, when we combine chicken and pork, we get a giraffe; and pork with beef results in a horse.

Generally speaking, we were very surprised to realize that such an obvious idea in the packaging has not yet been implemented, because it, to put it mildly, is plain to see and arises by itself.

The project is now at the very beginning of the implementation stage, but, of course, no mass production is planned – it would be just limited edition.

Poset Kahve is a Turkish start up steeped coffee brand founded in June, 2018, Istanbul – sub-branch of Kafein Up Coffee Roasting. The main problem in this project was how we could introduce this product to the unfamiliar, conservative Turkish audience. By standing out in colours and design to build a fun relationship with the audience I believed this problem could be solved. As part of the exploration, to support the main message -'Fresh Coffee Everywhere'- I also made a fun illustration, a big french press and a moka pot attached to a van which is now used as their trademark.

Rowse Wonder Bees

Design: BrandOpus
Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
Client: Rowse Honey
Location: London, UK
Packaging Contents: Honey
Packaging Substrate / Materials: Plastic

Global branding agency BrandOpus has created an exciting new kids innovation; Rowse Wonder Bees with long-term client partner Rowse to change children’s perceptions of honey.

Despite breakfast being the biggest occasion for honey consumption, it features in less than 2% of children’s breakfasts. However, this is rapidly changing, driven by the growing consumer need for a natural and healthy start to the day. Honey is growing +38% year on year making it the second fastest growing product at breakfast time for children, growing ahead of all other spreads. Given parents’ desire to give their families natural products, Rowse saw an opportunity to create a fun range of honey that kids would love and parents would feel good about serving. The new range uses honey that is naturally mild in taste and fortified with Vitamin C, a first in the breakfast category.

The task lay in how to reframe honey and increase its relevance to kids at breakfast. We needed to create a playful and engaging eating experience and wanted to celebrate the wonder of bees and honey. The new design champions are the honey bees - the hardworking heroes that play an integral role in maintaining our planet’s ecosystem. The range features two superhero Wonder Bees; Lizzy the Queen Bee and Whizzy the Worker Bee, who each educate children on the different roles that bees play in the hive and the importance of pollination.

Rowse Wonder Bees brings the natural wonder of honey to life and the playful, friendly characters create interesting and engaging breakfast-times for the whole family.

Ellen Munro, Creative Director at BrandOpus says “Bees are so important to the planet, pollinating the plants we all need to survive, as well as making all that delicious honey. You might even call them superheroes... We wanted to help children understand how special honey bees are and also get them excited about eating honey. Enter the Wonder Bees! Our two characters make honey fun and educational while bringing variety to the supermarket shelf and the breakfast table.”

Catherine Allen, Senior Brand Manager, Rowse Honey says “Honey is the perfect natural kids breakfast accompaniment; however kids aren’t excited about eating honey. BrandOpus helped us capitalise on honey’s natural benefits and understood the importance to market it as a spread that little ones would love and parents feel good about serving.”

"SHALL WE HAVE ONE?" (ONE translates as “JEDNA” in Croatian.)

The very thought of this sentence spoken in a Croatian bar is completely unambiguous in the context of our country and the environment. When someone speaks these words, everyone knows what they mean – rakija (a type of brandy).

Rakija is the most popular spirit drink (shot) in Croatia. So much so that there is a media estimate that every fifth Croatian drinks rakija.

Design: Rhyzome Design Studio
Graphic Designer: Sayali
Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
Client: Chai pe Charcha
Location: Mumbai, India
Packaging Contents: Tea Box
Packaging Substrate / Materials: Corrugated Box, Aluminium Packet
Printing Process: Screen printing

Chai Pe Charcha, a desi chai cafe wanted to have their tea box redesigned. The packaging had to convey the message that people can have their favorite tea delivered right to their offices and at affordable costs.

The first thing we did, was to define the brand colors and have a design concept in place. The brand colors were green, brown and yellow. The design concept decided was to target office goers and the copy agreed upon was “Chai At Your Comfort.” This conveyed the ease of ordering the specific tea which people wanted, easily.

Next was to lock the design concept, here we opted to show an employee relaxing on his desk with a cup of steaming hot chai. The chai cup was red, which was in contrast to the brand colors and from the emerging smoke, the words Chai At Your Comfort billow out. The whole front side of the box gave an impression of relaxed ease.

Following the brand message of “Roz Ki Chai” and “Love Of Tea” the backside of the box had a fun mind map which gave various reason why people love tea. It lists down various reason why people love Chai in an interactive fun way with arrows and artistically aligned type.

This a fun, unique packaging which emphasizes the brand message and complements the branding also.

Design: 43oz.com - Design Studio
Creative Director: Alex Kodimsky
Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
Client: GreatWine
Location: Moldova, Ukraine
Packaging Contents: Wine
Packaging Substrate / Materials: Glass bottle, Paper Label
Printing Process: Digital printing, foil stamping

The development of label design for a series of varietal wines by Great Wine is a continuation of our studio’s collaboration with the Ukrainian company. In case of this project we had to create a visual concept within a classic design style that would emphasize the high quality of the drink, while also making the product stand out on the shelf. Taking into account the client’s request, we’ve focused on developing a temperate and elegant wine label with certain original elements.

At a glance the label design for Great Wine varietal wine series may look quite temperate, minimalistic even. However, upon a closer look it’s easy to see a lot of interesting details that together form a rather saturated image. Of course, the first thing that draws the attention is the heraldic element in the upper left part of the label that symbolizes the brand’s name. In the lower part of the label one can find a calligraphic element that further emphasizes the name Great Wine. The label is printed on quality wine paper with special texture that works well with gold foil stamping, which is used for accentuating certain elements in the composition.

Fresh Thyme Kombucha Range

Design: The Creative Pack
Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
Client: Fresh Thyme Farmers Market
Location: LA, California, USA
Packaging Contents: Kombucha
Packaging Substrate / Materials: Glass Bottle

The Creative Pack worked closely with Fresh Thyme Farmers Market to create a fresh, unique design to highlight their new Organic Kombucha. Since it is specialty range rarely seen in private label, it needed to have a design to match. To set Fresh Thyme’s Kombucha apart from branded competitors, we designed the bottles with a bold, energetic, graphic style that highlighted the multiple health benefits as well as the one of a kind flavors that are in each sip of Fresh Thyme’s Kombucha.

The process began with determining how to translate the existing Fresh Thyme branding into a novelty drink range that highlights the healthy living lifestyle associated with this beverage. We needed to determine which design elements to maintain and which to adapt to better embody Kombucha. The Creative Pack was able to successfully create a distinct range that captures the essence and characteristics of Kombucha while standing out on shelf.

The background is not the typical tractor horizon and colored skyline – instead it is a full single color gradient reminiscent of the beverage. On either side of the title, side banners highlight the health benefits of the Kombucha - “Nourish, Enlighten, Balance and Focus.” Calling out these natural powers entices new customers who might be unfamiliar with what Kombucha is, and why one should drink it. These banners as well as the title “Kombucha” and descriptor, “Sparkling Fermented Tea,” were emphasized in metallic ink for these elements to pop out on the label.

It was also very important for the packaging to distinguish its seven exotic flavors. Unique to Kombucha, Fresh Thyme range includes flavors such as Thyme Lime, Black Currant & Blueberry Matcha. To accentuate this, lively illustrations of the ingredients are scattered around the title, as if dancing. The incorporation of bubbles plays into the idea that this is sparkling beverage. It also creates the illusion that the ingredients are floating about inside – all to compose the Kombucha.

Fresh Thyme’s Kombucha range design is reminiscent of the Fresh Thyme’s core private label design, with a similar structure and strength, but a personality all it’s own that appeals more to the health focused client. It is a bold and refreshing design that appeals to Kombucha lovers as well as customers unfamiliar with the product but are captured by its unique design and clear health benefits.

Peach Crisp is a traditional snack with a taste of the North and the South. It originated in the Tang Dynasty and has a long history. It is also a must-have gift for friends and relatives.

Therefore, we should reflect the characteristics of traditional Chinese culture as much as possible in the packaging design. (The image of the fire dragon means the social fire face, which not only reflects the treasures of the traditional culture and art of the folk, but also highlights its rich, rough, exaggerated and publicized personality)

Taking into account the selling point of the product, we extracted the following keywords “burning”, “burning” and “fire” from the product name “Spitfire Peach Crisp”, so we should highlight the “fire” as much as possible when designing its product name. Features.

Hop Heart

Design: PB Creative
Project Type: Concept
Location: Brighton, UK
Packaging Contents: Beer
Packaging Substrate / Materials: Can

Beer has long been associated with an unhealthy lifestyle, not helped by the overused term ‘beer belly’. Emerging drinking trends show that consumers are gravitating towards healthier alternatives and are placing quality over quantity.

In line with this new wave of thinking, FMCG trade title The Grocer challenged brand and packaging design agency PB Creative to develop a beer brand that dispels negative connotations and improves public awareness of the health benefits.

Heart-felt concept
PB Creative responded with Hop Heart, a craft-beer brand inspired by the high levels of vitamin B6 found in beer, which are known to reduce the risk of heart disease. Recognised for creating designs with beauty and clarity, PB Creative’s concept centres around a brand icon: a heart-shaped hop.

Placed at the heart of the packaging, this icon clearly communicates the brand story – that the beer is made from the finest ingredients and is also good for you and your heart. It also drives home the message that hops are a key component, imparting flavour and character as well as health benefits.

A passionate campaign
The team developed a campaign that playfully draws on the iconic ‘I heart NY’ strapline, using the can’s central icon to spell out ‘I heart beer’ and ‘beer hearts u’. As well as emphasising PB Creative’s passion towards communicating that it is a high-quality beer, the brand icon and packaging design also reinforce the health-giving benefits.

Co-director Ben Lamberts says: “There is definitely a gap in the market for a beer that promotes its health benefits while retaining authenticity. We challenged ourselves to create a brand that is simple in its execution and delivery of communication, and which would appeal to a modern-day consumer.”

Design: W/H Ltd.
Printer: Ace Printing
Photographer: Zhong Jifan
Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
Location: Taiwan

This series of facial blotting tissues is the new product of Lai Hao Taiwan Gift Shop. The design of this series is inspired by Taiwanese characteristics that are known to tourists.

The company is a hand-held shop in Yongkang Street, Dongmen. It sells many Taiwanese specialties and is also committed to developing its own products.

We have selected a few of the most popular Taiwanese features that are familiar to tourists from Taiwan, and we have used the abstract tactics of the past sightseeing and handicrafts to abstract the various attractions and snacks and simplify the visual elements. After deconstruction and recombination, and through the processing of composite makeup, the oil-absorbing paper presents a more unique appearance, and it is also expected that the gift can have a better visual experience.
