Client: Rabbit Hole Distilling,
Location: Louisville, KY
Packaging Contents: Spirits
Packaging Materials: Embossed glass with foil embossing on a linen label

In advance of launching a new premium spirits line, Rabbit Hole Distilling of Louisville, Kentucky turned to Murray Brand Communications to develop its new packaging architecture.

Initially seeking a label reminiscent of the style associated with fashion designer, Tom Ford, the client later opted for a more classic look in which the brand name is a primary read and quality cues such as foil embossing, serif fonts and a textured linen substrate are combined.

Along with staging the brand's name prominently in foil at the top of the primary label, Murray Brand designers introduced a diagonal label to heighten brand awareness in a competitive field replete with rectangular labels. To complete the design, a crossing neck band was designed to deliver a more sophisticated looks and convey the feeling of a man wearing a tuxedo with bowtie or ascot.

Packaging Materials: Paper. Glass

Osiris is a small Brew crafting brewery in St. Petersburg (Russia). When they contacted me company produces three beers and planning to expand the line. Their problem is that everyone follows the beer comes up with individually, without regard to the previous file. As a result, the company has had quite disparate labels which did not have succession and can not be read as the goods of one company. It was decided to unify the label and make a logo redesign. As the style was chosen by the Swiss minimalism so as to unify different positioning and the name of different varieties. As a new company logo was selected Eye of Horus, the son of the Egyptian god Osiris, who is the most recognizable symbol of the Egyptian, and the most famous legend of Osiris. Graphically, the logo represents a figure lying on its side 6, which visually resembles the eye of Horus and the same refers to the number of beers in the lineup. Each label has its unique character, which in turn is part of the eye of Horus symbol in Egyptian mythology is associated with the feeling of a person. Each label has its own legend, which is described on the label, which involves the buyer in an interesting game and encourages him to collect the entire collection. LONXE, THE FIRST VINEYARD RIBEIRO WITH GEOLOCATION
Nowadays there are too many wines made by oenologists. What’s scarce is wine made by poets. This one is. It’s a Ribeiro that has its own production philosophy, it’s far removed from the excessively industrialised mass produced wines. When making it, a lot has to do with the magic of the environment, and nature’s capacity to help out with the work. It’s all about vineyards that are detached from the hustle and bustle of daily life. With the charm that only seclusion has. That of being unique.

The vineyards that grow the grapes used to make Lonxe are cut off from civilization, somewhere whose magic has a great deal to do with the personality of this wine. In a world in which the distances are shortened, and perhaps the key to success of this Imaginarte project for the Eloi Lorenzo Winery is precisely that everything related to Lonxe is far away. A simple, distinct, catchy word that says a lot about the winery’s philosophy.

The agency has created the label using the “faraway” concept to come up with a brand that is only seen from a distance. Using an Op-art puzzle, and only if you move away from the bottle, can you see the exact location coordinates of the vineyard: 42º19’02’’N 08º00’41’’E, another one of the attributes that make this wine unique.

We designed house-care brand “&SOAP”.

Despite the word “soap” in the brand name, it is not for the skin or hair, but is a detergent for daily items such as tableware or garments. We are challenging the contradiction that house-cleaning tools are not designed clean, by giving them elaborated contemporary design enough to display them in urban sophisticated lifestyle.

As a first product line within &SOAP, we will release " STEP BY STEP” in this October. STEP BY STEP, dividing total cleaning process into three steps, provides the right cleaning method that enables us to clean our house and household items more thoroughly, filled with a sense of accomplishment.

In addition, our identity is in a combination of Japan and Portland.

&SOAP is based on the collaboration of a Portland-based creative agency and a Japanese traditional small manufacturing company, supplying genuine detergent for household items made of organic soap. This manufacturing company has nearly a century of history, and is known as one of the very few authentic manufacturers that have a very unique caldron production system.

Their technology enables our product to realize intense effectiveness as a detergent, though almost all of it is made from 100% organic soap.

And their belief and passion in the possibility of soap has produced &SOAP.

Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
Client: Honey from Hungary
Location: Budapest, Hungary
Packaging Contents: Honey

There are only a few products of the food industry that entitles Hungary to be on the toplist of any international market. Honey is one of them. The most high-toned gourmand-shop in London, the Italian supermarket-chain and most recently, the Dubaian market is equally interested in high-quality Hungarian honey products.

Honey From Hungary Ltd. has contacted us at the beginning of 2016 with the assignment of creating a youthful package design for their 16 different honey products to stands out on both the local and the international market. This design was on our shortlist for a long time, but as only one could have been sent to production, it remained on project level. However, we consider it worthy of nomination.

What does the product have to offer?

“Made by bees”
Our task was to create a stylish, unique and youthful image based on complex brand building. With this honey packaging, we wanted to revive an age-long tradition in the spirit of the present. We aimed to shuffle an energetic, youthful world into the market of honeys by using extra colours.

"When life itself seems lunatic, who knows where madness lies?" - Don Quixote

Based upon the books by Miguel de Cervantes, our story follows the adventures of a nameless hidalgo who reads so many chivalric romances that he loses his sanity and sets out to revive chivalry, undo wrongs, and bring justice to the world under the name Don Quixote. Engravings by Gustav Doré set the stage for our adventure but are constantly interrupted by the bright drips of color encroaching into the frame. Like the story of Don Quixote, the package represents taking the road less traveled, overcoming obstacles, and doing things your own way, even if the world thinks you're a little crazy.

Client: A for Avocado
Location: Sofia, Bulgaria
Packaging Contents: Cosmetics
Packaging Materials: Paper and plastic

A for Avocado is a new natural cosmetics brand, made in Bulgaria with high quality avocado oil, imported from California.

The brief of the project was simple - to develop brand identity and packaging.

The first four products of the brand (day cream, night cream, power serum and pure avocado oil) come in a face-care series that inspired my design approach. The background of the paper boxes is an avocado vector pattern that seamlessly transitions from one product to the next, thus creating a design unity and integration. Furthermore, the seamless pattern helps make the boxes more noticeable when put one next to another on the shelf.

In addition, I inverted the colours of the night cream as the simples and most logical way to colour code its usage.

Wellesley's Apple Butter (Student Project)

Designers: Aqil Raharjo& Anna Cipolla
Project Type: Student Project
School: OCAD University
Course: Packaging Design 1
Tutor: Stuart Werle
Location: Toronto, Canada
Packaging Contents: Jams/Spreads, Apple Butter
Packaging Materials: Glass, Paper

With the increasing sales in Jams, Preserves, Honey & All Natural products retail categories, there is quite a pressure from other competitors to Wellesley brand. Apple butter is definitely a healthier alternative than other breakfast jams/spreads in the market with no added sugar, no preservatives, and no fat. Compared to other Apple Butter competitors, Wellesley’s is all-natural and the only product of Canada that also 100% uses Ontario grown, tree ripened apples for their products. However, we believe that this packaging does not do its justice on portraying the quality, reliability, and the healthy aspect of the brand. The current design is outdated and becoming less relevant to the targeted consumers compared to other brands. While Brands like President’s Choice and Smuckers are really stepping up their game through their packaging, marketing strategy, and product quality we believe that by redesigning the packaging Wellesley will be able to compete with these brand giants.

By keeping the quality and tradition values of Wellesley in mind, we propose our design in which we believe is the most appealing to moms (particularly stay at home moms); the demographic of consumers who are most likely will buy the product the most. Wellesley’s Apple Butter is appealing to young adults, professionals and stay at home moms who have plenty of time to cook and curious to try new alternatives for their sugary spreads. Our proposed design will also reach to a wider range of audience, including young professionals that are looking for healthier alternatives of their sweet buttery cravings, apple enthusiasts as well as people on special diets. Not only it is an accessory food to put on a toast, consumers can also use apple butter for meat (pork, chicken, beef, even duck), snacks, and even desserts.
